Question configuration

Creation and editing of questions in the game

Questions are managed on the Studio Timeline

Unlike global settings, questions are configured within the Studio Timeline, via individual 'Elements'.

The game itself has four Elements:

  1. Trivia questions

  2. Reveal Results

  3. Finish Quiz

  4. Quiz Results

  5. Bonus vote question

1 - Trivia questions

Question Content

A question is comprised of a question text with 2 to 4 possible answer options, one of which is selected as the correct one. Questions that are answered correctly keep the player inside the game, and can optionally award an extra life and points.

Question Timings

The speed of your questions can be setup within the Element settings. These can be any duration set in seconds. You can also setup how long the results of each question will be displayed on the users's screen, leaving the presenter a window to respond and to know exactly how long they have to fill.

Question settings

Questions can be configured to allow extra lives or power-ups to be used or not.

2 - Reveal Results

Placed after a Trivia Question on the Timeline, this is a dedicated Element trigger that will immediately reveal the results on the user's screen and eliminate whoever got that question wrong (provided they don't use an extra life).

Optionally a "Rollback" can be triggered to restore all eliminated players to the game. This is needed in exceptional circumstances where all players are eliminated from a final question where at least one winner is required for the game rules.

3 - Finish Quiz

Triggering this element will end the game. The content producer can select the winners and award the cash prize pot among them. It does not trigger anything on the users' screens.

4 - Quiz results

This Element is triggered by the back-end of the game, rather than the game producer. It is sent in response the "Finish Quiz" request, and provides details of the winners and their prizes.

Bonus: Vote question

This behaved similarly to the Trivia question, with the main difference being that there is no correct answer and it doesn't have an impact on the game. A good way to poll player opinions. e.g. ask what theme should the next game be about?
