What is an App?

Apps are web or native applications built using the platform APIs and SDKs. Every Project must be associated with an App.

How do I associate an App with my Project?

When creating a Project an App can be associated. The App menu will display all Apps that have previously been added to this Project. Simply select one from the menu to associate it with this Project. Every Project must have an associated App and so a Project cannot be created without one selected.

Alternatively you can upload a new App via its app spec URL. App spec URLs can be provided by the Monterosa team. Please contact our support team at [email protected]envelope in order to discuss your App requirements.

Do you have an App I can start from?

FanKit is our core App and powers real-time web Apps designed for interactive audience engagement use cases. It is the primary front-end framework used to power Monterosa Experiencesarrow-up-right you can find and use in our Experience hub.

It is a responsive web app built with React, designed to be integrated into existing websites and native apps. It features a range of real-time interactive Elements, the building blocks of each Experience.

How configurable is FanKit?

FanKit has a rich set of creative options, configuration and timing settings. Almost every option can be configured dynamically within Monterosa / Studio without code. Every Element can be triggered in real-time by a human, clock time or API/feed trigger.

Where do I find the settings to configure FanKit?

To configure the FanKit App, you will find these settings within the left-hand navigation bar, inside a Project.

Can I import & export setup?

Every time App Settings are saved, it generates a JSON file which contains all settings. The file can be exported and then imported into another Project.

For example, in cases of a Staging and a Production Project for the same App all Setup changes can be imported from one to the other within few clicks. No need to manually copy all settings.

Note that both Projects must have the same version number or there could be errors with the import.

To import App Settings, first click on the APP in the side navigation. In this case, it's FanKit v25. This will open a new tray.

Click Import App Settings and select the json file you wish to upload.

When an import is complete, it will take you back to the event and you'll see that the APP in the side navigation has been updated.
