Large spikes within TV and sport are often predictable but rapid and extremely demanding on infrastructure.

The time it takes for instances to respond to auto-scaling is typically too slow for these use cases, therefore we work with our partners to anticipate scale and operate pre-emptive scale-ups with headroom for unexpected success.

In addition, we run enough capacity to generally handle unexpected spike with various warning and monitoring systems keeping track of capacity.
